Repair bad sectors of a harddisk

I have with me a hard disk // Seagate 250 GB // which has become quite old and has many bad sectors. Please tell me the most efficient way to repair these bad sectors of the disk. Will this disk then be able to be used as secondary storage?

Repair bad sectors of a harddisk

Hi Alfredo,
The steps to repair bad sectors on hard disk are as follows:
1) Close all the open files on the hard disk
2) Click 'Start', select 'Computer' option from the list
3) Select the drive that has the hard disk affected
4) Right click the drive and click 'Properties' option
5) From the properties window, select 'Tools' tab

6) Click 'Check Now' button and select 'Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sector'checkbox
7) Click 'Start' button to start the repair of the hard disk
8) When the process is completed, Windows will notify the user about the bad sectors repaired in the system

Repair bad sectors of a harddisk

Hello,

HDD is a good way to store data permanently but if the HDD does trouble, there’s nothing to do with that but with a third-party tool, the task is easy to do.

1. Download and install HDD Regenarator.

2. After launching, click on “Click here to repair physical bad sectors on damaged hard drive surface directly under Windows (XP/Vista/7/8)”.

3. Choose the damaged HDD and then press “Start process”.

4. When a new console window appears, press 2 and hit enter.

5. After the scanning is complete, press 1 and hit enter to complete the repair process.

6. Now, time to choose the start sector on HDD. To act an entire scan and repair on HDD, type 1 and hit enter.

7. The scan and repair process will begin.

If you get any sort of warning message, you can do the same task using a bootable USB or CD. To generate one, click on “Bootable USB Flash” or “Bootable CD/DVD” from the home of the software.

Insert your media and follow the instruction.
