What do I need to delete or change to protect my privacy

Hi,

I want to sell my home computer.

What do I need to delete or change to protect my privacy from those who would use it later?

In addition, how can I wipe the memory clean but undeleted programs do not work?

I would be very grateful.

What do I need to delete or change to protect my privacy

First you will need a bootable disc with any Operating System (Windows XP, Windows 7 etc.).

Insert disc and start system re-install.

Follow the instructions and choose format options which will erase all data on your hard disc or selected partition.

You can also delete your files manually if you know where they are stored.

Hi Gregory Manilov!

If you want to change your privacy settings then:

1. Go in Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, Click Internet options.

2. On the Privacy tab, move the slider up for a higher level of privacy or down for a lower level of privacy.

3. Now select this:

* Block all cookies: Cookies from all web will be blocked.

* High: Cookies from all web sites that use your personally identifiable information without your explicit consent will be blocked.

* Medium High: Cookies from third-party web sites that do not have a compact policy will be blocked.

* Low: Cookies from third-party web sites that do not have a compact policy will be blocked.

* Accept all cookies: All cookies will be saved on your computer.

What do I need to delete or change to protect my privacy

When someone will buy your computer they must expect some usable files, programs from you.

So do not delete everything. For your privacy delete very personal files, passwords saved anywhere, remove some customization such as desktop wallpaper because it may something you liked.

Rename some common folder if you created those following some name or things.

Clear off internet browsing history and logout if there any active login.
