Booting in secure mode- UEFI

Hello everyone,

I tried to install Linux on my new laptop but stopped after encountering some issues during the installation process. I reformatted my hard disk to perform a clean install of Windows 8. When installing Linux, I disabled the secure boot and boot from CSM instead. Even when I installed Windows 8, I used the same booting option. My problem now is my product key. In order to get it, I will need to boot to secure mode. But when doing this, I cannot find any booting option. Maybe this is because I tried to boot from CSM. However, I cannot install from USB either in secure mode. There is no options available. Can anyone help me through this?

Booting in secure mode- UEFI

Hello, You said that you have a disabled secure boot now you want to install windows 8 again. To do this you should enable secure boot in the BIOS and then try reinstalling Windows 8.

If you enable secure boot it can disable things which was not the part of the normal secure boot. To enable secure boot follow the steps:

1. Turn off your PC.

2. Immediately press the ESC key until startup menu shows.

3. Use the right arrow key and choose System Configuration menu then use the down arrow key and select the boot option and press Enter.

4. Now select the secure boot and press enter then enable the secure boot.

5. To save the changes press Enter.

6. To select the file menu use left arrow key then use down arrow key and select Save Changes and Exit then select yes and press enter.

7. Then computer restarts.
