Has the Facebook Like icon changed?

I have been noticing the sites have the new Facebook like icon. Is this changed globally? Why was this changed? When was this done?

Has the Facebook Like icon changed?

Yes, the original like button on Facebook, for the first time has changed a new icon.

 The new icon is the word “f” written in blue on a white background. It resembles the share icon. The change has occurred on 6, November 2013. The reason for change is said to have a better look at high resolution screens. The change is not visible on all the websites as of now. As the change will affect a large number of websites and blogs.
