I tried wiping the hard drive with both XP and Vista on a single partition in order to load Windows Vista. I ended up with Windows Vista installed twice. How can I wipe the hard drive without losing all the programs and drivers?

You can simply delete it in the drive C:/ but I don't think this is advisable. To just simply remove it even if you lose your programs just simply install it again. This is much better that having the operating system still installed in your computer. You just need to backup all of the necessary files that you need. Those which are important or with value to you. Also copy other programs on a different storage media because there are some that can be just copied and paste but will still run normally on a different or fresh installed operating system.

Hope this solves your problem regarding the two Vista that you have.
