Winrar to break down a huge file

1. Find the file that needs to be split and right click on it.

 

2. Choose “Add to Archive” option from the menu that appears. 

3. A popup window will open to the General Tab.  Enter the name for the split file.  If you don’t select a name, WinRAR will automatically assign a name.

4. At the bottom of the menu, you will see the “Split by Volume, Bytes” option. Click the down arrow and choose an available maximum size for every file that will be split from your larger file. You can also manually type in a size in Megabyte that you would like to split your file into.

5. Once you have chosen the maximum size you would like your files to be, click the “OK” button.  WinRAR will automatically start to split your large file into the smaller files with your chosen file size.

6. Once the file has been split, your new smaller sized files will be available, all saved in numerical order.
