Hi all

Recently I tried to play a video using windows media player but the video didn’t start and ended up in an error on my screen. The screenshot of the error is as follows:

Windows Media player

The message states:

Windows Media player

The file you are attempting to play has an extension (.aspx) that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in expected behavior.

Any help in this regard will be highly praised. Looking forward to your replies.

Kindest regards.

Hi,

The .aspx Format is not supported by windows media player and it can't play that type of video files. So to see .aspx format video files download VLC player from:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html.

Install and then try to see the video by right clicking on the file and then clicking on open with VLC media player.

Thanks.

Your Windows Media Player does not support .aspx file. Try to install Codec installation packages for windows media player.

Hi Judith,

Unfortunately media player is unable to play (.aspx) format but you can download a VLC 2.1 player in order to play the video. If you already have the VLC player installed then all you have to do is right click on the video and choose the option, open with, and select the VLC player.

If you do not have the VLC player yet then you can download it from here:
