Hi,

I get the error message below when am trying to play a video (mp 4 and avi) or audio (mp3) file.

Any suggestions?

Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct.

First make sure that the files you are trying to open are not already in use.

The problem might also be that the file is in a location you do not have permission to. To get full permission to the folder your files are in:

1. Right-click the folder and choose Properties.

2. Open the Security tab, choose Edit and then Add.

3. Type "everyone" into the box and choose OK.

4. Check the Full control box.

5. Click Apply and then OK.

You may also need to check out your sound settings from Control Panel. Choose Sound, open the Speakers window, choose Advanced and uncheck Enable Audio enhancements.
