Hi everyone!

Why can't I search on Google?

I checked my computer if Google is blocked, but it's not. I can also use yahoo.com and other search engine except Google.

What's the reason why I can't use it?

My internet connection is stable and fast. I'm experiencing this problem since yesterday.

I'm not using any firewall either. Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

Thank you very much.

Here's what I get every time I open www.google.com

The connection has timed out

The server at www.google.com is taking too long to respond.

• The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

• If you are unable to load any pages, check your computers network connection.

• If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Try Again

It’s a kind of confusing error and that I know that Google is faster than yahoo to load. Make sure that you don’t have any security software that blocks or restrict your browser from browsing specific site. Maybe there is a problem to your browser connection, or an error occurs during the updates of your browser.

These a lot of possible cause why you are encountering that problem. Try to check your cookies and clear it. If you don’t know how to clear browser cookies search it to Google, it depends on what browser that you are using. If it still doesn’t work try to uninstall your browser and then install it or get an updated one and then install it.

Hi Kara,

In the address bar of your browser, type 'about:config' and then press enter.

Scroll down to locate dom.max_script_run_time, or simply type it in the blank field to filter.

Double click on it and extend the time to 30 seconds from the current one which is 10 seconds.

Restart your browser, and then try using Google again.

Otherwise check the status of the proxy settings in your browser, configure them correctly in accordance with the standards of the network you are on. Also check the network cable if you are using a cable network to ensure that it shows a connection to the internet, it is wireless check the signal strength.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Lee Hung.
