Hello Experts,

I am trying install AutoDesk Revit 2013 using the install now option provided in the downloads section of the site. The installation fails with a communication failure error as shown below. I tried disabling my firewall temporarily proceeded to install. Here again after a while I get this communication error. I tried to download the file using download now having installed the download manager prior to its download. I launch the installation and still this fails after a while. What might be preventing me from proceeding with the installation? Please can anyone suggest a remedy to this solution? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards

Error:

Communication Failure

Download and installation has been interrupted by a lost connection between the Autodesk website and its computer. The most likely causes are:

-The installation package was moved from the install location, which is not supported

-The Autodesk download website was closed or manually refreshed before the installer launched.

-A firewall has blocked the network ports

Please address these issues if possible, return to the website, and then click again on install now, or use another download method: Download now or browser download.

Unable to complete AutoDesk Revit installation due to a communication failure

This problem can’t be avoided especially if you are running the installer or the installation directly from the website putting it as an online installer. There is actually no problem running an online installation but make sure you have a fast connection especially if the program is somewhat big. If you don’t have a fast enough connection and you run an online installer, it is more likely that you will encounter a problem when your connection begins to slow.

That’s why if you don’t have a fast connection, it is better to download an offline installer so you can complete the download of the installer and save it on your local hard drive. This way, you are sure that you can complete the installation because the installer is already stored in your hard drive. When doing an online installation, the installation proper doesn’t immediately start.

When you begin an online installation, the starter program will first download the entire installation package on a temporary folder in your hard drive and the actual installation of the application will just begin when the entire package is completely downloaded. So, if you want to fix your problem, download the offline installer from Autodesk Revit 2013 since I’m not sure if it is provided in Autodesk official website.

Autodesk Revit 2013 supports only Windows XP and Windows 7 both x86 and x64.
