I know that everyone has heard of dual booting on pc. I currently have a laptop with both windows 7 and windows 8 on a dual booting basis. Recently I was browsing the internet and saw the new Ubuntu release and got very interested in it. Is triple booting possible? how can it be done?

Hello,

Installation of different OS in the same machine and booting them into is possible and called multi-boot. It’s simple but also risky as you’re installing Linux on Windows installation.

  1. First of all, download and install EasyBCD.
  2. Free-up some space of your HDD for installing Ubuntu. At least, 25GB is recommended.
  3. Download Ubuntu ISO and make a bootable USB. You can use Universal USB Installer.
  4. Boot into the USB, install Ubuntu on the freed-up space. Learn how to do it.
  5. Then, boot into Windows.
  6. Launch EasyBCD.
  7. Select “BCD Deployment” >> check “Install the Windows Vista/7 bootloader to MBR” >> hit “Write MBR”.
  8. Go to “Add New Entry”.
  9. Add the Windows installation and Linux installation to the list.

This tutorial will be very helpful to you.
