Hello,

I want to know is there any way to bond multiple DSL lines?

I heard there're some ways to bond using MLPPP. Whereas it requires some support by ISP. Can I bond without the support of ISP? Can I use cable modem and DSL line together to get a faster speed/diversity?

Thank you.

Hi,

Actually there is a way that can bond 2 DSL lines and increase speed but it is not available yet for domestic usage, but it is used by your ISPs to combine up speeds, it is done by very expensive devices which one cannot afford domestically.

You have heard about Load Balancing term, people think it is used to combine DSL lines but in fact it is use to select which line should be used at the time.

Another problem is your single IP connection, how can you combine them at your end with a single IP, so these are the reasons it is impossible.

Hope it explains.

There are many types of equipment that can help you in this case. You can either purchase a switch that can perform the function you desire, this switch will combine all the traffic form DSL line and form Cable modem. You need just the converters to make it possible then use a switch and you will be able to use them all at a same time.

You can also use more then one modems in your computer at the same time to do the same thing then it will show you two network connections at the same time.
