Hi fellows

Yesterday I was trying to install the IBM SPSS software for windows from a DVD but I get an error during the installation. The screenshot of the error is attached below:

Error 1311.Source file not found: G:Mule CompleteIbm Spss Statistics 20 (x32-x64) & Amos Multilingual-EquinoxIBM.SPSS.Statistics.v20. x64...Common.cab

The error states:

Error 1311.Source file not found: G:Mule CompleteIbm Spss Statistics 20 (x32-x64) & Amos Multilingual-EquinoxIBM.SPSS.Statistics.v20. x64…Common.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

If anyone has any idea what does this error code 1311 means, please guide me. How can I remove this error message to make a successful installation.

Waiting for your suggestions

Regards

Hello Martin,

Error 1311 means that you don't have permission to install a program from the CD or DVD. To solve this problem follow the following steps:

1. Create a new folder for example "ibm".

2. Insert the software setup CD or DVD into your optical drive.

3. Go to my computer. In the My Computer window, double-click on the CD drive to open it.

4. Select all the components of CD or DVD , copy them and paste into the folder "ibm".(created earlier).

5. From among the files you just copied, double-click on "Setup.exe." .

6. Setup will start and software will install.

I hope this will solve your problem.

Thanks.

Hi There,

Installing IBM SPSS software requires that installer must be run as administrator. Having it installed from a physical media (DVD/CD) and encounter Error 1311, the following may help you run the installer.

Create a Folder in your local hard drive (with name IBM for instance).

Locate from your DVD/CD drive the directory of IBM SPSS usually found under file name WindowsSPSSStatisticswin32 (or) WindowsSPSSStatisticswin64.

Copy the file from the DVD/CD found in this directory and paste it into the previously created folder in your local hardware (named IB).

Open the new folder (named IBM) where files from DVD/CD were copied. Find a “setup.exe” file. If found (ideally, it should be there), double click to run the installer or right click the file and select Run as Administrator, if Windows 7/Vista.

Follow on-screen instructions and installations must now be complete to finish the set-up.

Hoping that this option could help.
