I have Windows Vista operating system in my laptop. While trying to copy files from another computer on the same LAN network,  the file transfer is too slow but while others copy files from my PC the speed is very fast.

Moreover,my PC is not slow and virus free too.

Slow file transfer in LAN network

Hello Mr.Robin90,

You know in LAN there are elements which determine file transfer speeds I will list some and some things to do to make your transfer more faster.

The number one element that determine transfer speed is your hard disk's "free space".A hard disk drive having large free space will transfer more faster than those who have less free space so try clearing unnecessary files in your hard drive and try again

Another one is the LAN. Check if your LAN cable if it is damaged or if its skin is torn off, also try avoiding bending your LAN cable don't let heavy items like chairs sit on top of your LAN cable.

Multiple file transfers Well of course too many file transfers in one go will definitely slow down your transfer time so try  limiting your transfers at a maximum of 3.

DEFRAG
Defragmenting your drive helps a lot it, erases unneeded files and will surely make your transfer rate faster by even a little.

TCP Optimizer
Try using this Optimizer to optimize your broadband i have tried this and i can say it definitely works (just search Google for its site).
