Skype has encountered a problem and needs to close then hangs

 Hello,

I have read the issue that you have with the Skype application and the main reason why you will have this issue is if your Skype application has been blocked or corrupted. Block by a software or application installed on the computer and corrupted by conflicting software on the computer.

First thing to do is to disable the virus protection that you’re using and then try opening the Skype application again on the computer.

If this won’t resolve the issue, so the next thing that we need to do is to uninstall and reinstall the software. Take note that if we remove the software, all the messages or contacts that you had save will be removed and the next time we install it again, you need to save it again on the application.

Uninstalling the Skype application:

1. Click on the start button located at the lower left corner of the screen

2. Click on control panel

3. A different screen will load up, showing the programs on the computer, we need to look for programs

4. Click Uninstall Programs

5. The screen will load up and then you’ll see all the applications installed on the computer

6. Look for the Skype application on the list and then click  Uninstall at the top of the screen

7. The uninstall process will be on the screen, just follow the steps that you have for it to be uninstalled completely on the computer

8. The icon of Skype will disappear on the screen

Reinstalling the Skype Application

1. Look for the icon of internet explorer on the desktop and then Open Internet Explorer

2. On the address bar or the http bar at the top and then type in: https://filehippo.com/

3. Hit Enter

4. The screen will load up and the search for Skype on the search bar at the top

5. You will see this application Skype 5.3.0.116

6. Click Download just under it

7. Click Download Latest Version located at the upper right side of the screen

8. The installation will start, let’s just follow all the steps on the screen until it’s finished

9. Open the Skype then check if everything is working fine now

All of the issue that you will experience with application like what you have on this one can only be resolve by a reset but since we can no longer open the screen of Skype, the only way to resolve it is to uninstall and reinstall the application.
