Hi Experts,

I tried to install Office 2013 Preview. But I failed due the error message

Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not available. Run Setup again from the original source disc or download location.

I think it indicates the missing of some files.

But I do not know how to recover them. My configuration is Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.

Please help me.

Hi,

If you're getting that error message, It could be that the installation on your computer is already corrupted.

To fix this, You must delete MS Office completely from your system including the entries from the system registry, reinstall your previous MS Office CD, then reinstall MS Office 2013 preview.

Try to check if that would work.

Hi Jaycelin,

This error signifies that the installation files have been corrupted or is missing.

To fix this, I suggest you to install the software again.

If the problem still persists, you may have to download Microsoft office 2013 again, and then try installing the software.

Alternatively, you may even talk to Microsoft support about this. You can contact them with the link given.

Hope this helps!

I don’t think you are using the retail CD if you are encountering this error. This error doesn’t happen if you are installing from a legit source.

It is more likely that you are using an ISO image of Microsoft Office 2013 which is probably downloaded from a different website and not from Microsoft. Or maybe you are using a standalone installer that you also downloaded from a website.

Since the installer doesn’t really works, the file you downloaded might be containing corrupted files. It is always best to download your product from legit source. Here are several locations where you can download and purchase Microsoft Office 2013.
