Hello! Random access memory(RAM) as we all know it is in all the computers. My question is how does it communicate with the computer? When does it perform its role? What are its advantages? Are there any disadvantages too? What kind of data is stored in RAM? Are there different types of RAM?

RAM is the abbreviation for Random Access Memory. It is made up of memory chips which are installed in the memory slots on the motherboard. Each moment you run a program, it is loaded from the hard disk to the Random Access Memory. This is because reading data from the RAM is much faster than reading data from the hard disk. Programs that are running from the RAM allows them to function without any lag time. The more RAM your computer has, the more data can be loaded from the hard disk into the RAM, which as a result speeds up the computer. Upgrading the CPU's RAM speeds up the performance of the computer.
