Hello, I’ve been using QuickBooks 2005 trial Australia and not ready to upgrade to other versions. I need to reactivate the same version but I’ve lost the registration key already. I want to make sure that the files I’m importing will not crash so I need the same to be reactivated.

Hi Desireenataliaa,

I have read your issue about quickbook 2005. The best thing you can do is make sure that you have back up ypur database file in order for you to protect your data. You can try the following code to reactivate the same version:

getXMLVersion() -> returns AU3.0

With objQBSearch
.Reset
.QBXMLVersion = getXMLVersion()
.QueryType = qtCustomerSearch
.Search
End With

If the above mentioned will not work just fine for you, try downloading again the same version from this site https://community.intuit.com/articles/1437411-how-to-register-activate-quickbooks-desktop or request a CD.

Hope this will help you.

Thank you.

Hi Desireenataliaa,

As long as you purchased the software and you registered the software under your name then you can acquire the registration key from QuickBooks support. It’s not advisable that you do some tweaking because this might harm your company file. You might end up loosing your company file and all your financial records will be wasted. The other option that you have is to uninstall your QuickBooks and reinstall it back as long as you still have the CD and the serial number. This will set your QuickBooks back to a trial version that would last for 30 days.
