Is this possible? I'm planning to sub-partition my extended partition.  And if it is possible, can I assign additional drive letters for each sub-partition?  I hope it would not reduce disk performance.  Need opinions on turning tables partition.

Dear Frank,

Thanks that you have shared your problem with us.

Dear you can make many partitions in your extended partition. In other words you can easily create sub-partitions in extended partitions. It will never reduce the speed of your pc.

You can do this with partition tools. Like disk managers etc. Windows XP has its own disk manager.

Just type "diskmgmt.msc" in run menu. A disk manager utility will open. Now use that to create sub partitions with your desired drive letters.

I hope it will help you.

Thanks

Yes it is possible to create sub-partitions to an extended partitions. And you can also assign drive letter to the drive that you want. Just click Start> Run> Type diskmgmt.msc and then press the Enter key. This will launch the Disk Manager window wherein you can create partitions and assign drive letters into it.
