Problems with running Exchange 2010

I am trying out Exchange 2010 VHD and running it on VirtualBox 4. x (in Ubuntu 11.04 64 bits). It was working well in the beginning but the computer asked me to reboot a few times. After rebooting several times, there is now a solid blue background after logging in. I pressed Ctrl-ALT-Del and was able to find the Task Manager as well as run applications through the Run Dialogue box. I am able to run cmd.exe, services.msc, and Exchange shell but not iexplore.exe and explorer.exe. However, I can see the processes appearing in the list in Task Manager. I tried running in Safe Mode and installed the Guest Additions without success.

Please help me identify the problem.

Hallo Calvin Newman,

The blue screen that appears in the background might be caused by a problem that is more than just the reboot with your exchange 2010's prompts. First of all I will ask that you start by checking the basics, and that is ensuring that the video graphics adapter cables and the power cables are not loosely attached because that could be one possible cause of the blue screen appearance.

Another possible cause for the blue screen could be a bug in the operating system that you are using which you could have created during its installation or when just using it. Check the BIOS settings and see that the boot menu has not been altered, that is if you can be able to access the BIOS.

The persistence of that error may even need you to reinstall the operating system again.
