Running a Macintosh computer as well as an Apple Smartphone has many restrictions on the applications that can be installed. All software that you want to use should be provided by the Mac App Store and if you tried installing something from a different source, you will end up having this error because the operating system itself blocks the installation.

But there is an alternative to this by modifying the configuration of the operating system and allowing unidentified software to be installed. This method is also described in Cannot Open rEFlt.mpkg On Mac. Here’s how you can do it. Click the Apple icon on your desktop, select System Preferences, and then Security & Privacy.

Find “Allow applications downloaded from” and select Anywhere. When you are prompted, click Allow From Anywhere. After that, run the app you wish to install. Respond Open if you are prompted. Continue with the installation until it is complete. Next, follow the same steps to open Security & Privacy. In “Allow applications downloaded from”, select “Mac App Store and identified developers”.
