Ownership problem after moving printer

I am encountering a problem with a printer after moving it from the Marketing OU to Research OU. The Marketing OU is still the local administrator and can remove print jobs. What can we do to correct this?

If the two places that you are referring to above are two departments on different domains on the local area network on which you are using the printer, then that is the reason for the problem that you are having right now. The following is what you will have to do to resolve that issue:

  • You will need to go the server on the Research OU, or if you are using a standalone computer go to that computer.
  • There you will need to search for that printer on the network, and then add it on that domain that you have moved on right now.

Once you have done that, you can try opening a document and then print it and see if the process will be carried out successfully.
