Hi there,

I was at home relaxing from a tough day work, I decided to entertain myself by playing computer games, I played need for speed shift, while I was playing, the games stopped and  an error message appeared, the message tells me that need for speed encountered and error and needs to be closed,

I pasted below the screen shot of the error.

Nfswo.exe

Nfswo.exe has encountered a problem and needs to  close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

There are only two option that I will choose, click on send and don't send, whatever I choose the game still close, I was so down felling that instead for being entertained by the game, I was having a problem, please help me fix this error.

Thanks in reading my post.

Dear Stevecanry

After seeing this error, I can understand that need for speed shift not running proper on your system due to not fulfill software / hardware requirements. For smooth running of need for speed shift, basic system requirements are:

Operating System: MS Windows XP, SP3; Vista
CPU: Intel Core Duo 2.0 GHz or faster; AMD X2 3600+ or faster
RAM: XP: 1 GB RAM / Vista: 1.5 GB RAM
DVD / CDDRIVE: 8x speed or faster DVD Drive
HARD Disk: At least 6 GB of free space
VIDEO: DirectX – Version 9.0c compatible
SOUND: DirectX 9.0c compatible

Video card must be 256 MB or more and contain NVIDIA GeForce 7800 or better OR ATI Radeon X1800 or better.

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported.

If your system have above mentioned specification then uninstall and re-install need for speed shift.

Hope your issue will be resolved.

That’s the usual error that pops up whenever an application crashes in Microsoft Windows. I also see that a lot on my computer whenever something crashes. If you were playing a game, try running the game again and see what happens. If the game worked the second time, the previous error is just a glitch and nothing serious.

Need for Speed: Shift

But if the error came back, might as well check if your computer meets the requirements. The game “Need for Speed: Shift” supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista Service Pack 2, and Windows 7.

It requires 1.6 GHz or faster Intel Dual-Core or equivalent AMD Athlon X2 3800+ processor, 1 GB RAM, Microsoft DirectX 9.0c-compatible video card with 256 MB video RAM and Pixel Shader 3.0 support, sound card, and 6 GB free space. If your machine falls short on these system requirements, try upgrading the affected device.

If you are running one of these operating systems, make sure you have the latest Service Pack installed. Also visit Need for Speed: Shift on Steam for more info. “Need for Speed: Shift” is a racing game developed by Slightly Mad Studios, published by Electronic Arts, and released on September 15, 2009.
