My Canon MX700 Printer encounters Error Code 6a80

Hello,

My problem is with my canon MX 700 printer where the print head is stuck on the side, but it's movable using hand. And a message is seen on the screen as error code 6a80. I used the manual to solve this, but there was no such issue. It will be very helpful for me if you can help me with some suggestion to solve this.

My Canon MX700 Printer encounters Error Code 6a80

 

 

Hi Mr. Andrew Word,

This problem (error 6a80) can be occurred for some reason. This can be caused by a small scrap of paper, a paperclip or something that is blocking the normal operation of the printer. Sometimes it happens when there is a problem with the circuit board which would require service or printer replacement.

 If you don't think or find such kind of problems, you can try this:

First of all turn off the printer. Cut a wide stripe (3cm-5cm) from a sheet of overhead-foil (90mm thickness). Then move it below the printer head, move it to the front and upwards and to the back and upwards. When it is done, remove the foil. Switch the printer on.

Hope the problem will be solved and it will work as before.
