Hi guys,

I am using windows XP home edition and I have an imate KJam windows mobile phone. I just formatted my C drive and did a clean install. After that I'm unable to connect my mobile with my PC. It was working just fine before the re installation, hence there is no fault in mobile / connectivity cable.

I was using active sync version 4.5 in previous windows installation and using the same this time. Whenever I tried to connect my mobile with the data cable attached to the system, it gives me the following error.

active sync error

Microsoft ActiveSync

Cannot connect with current connection settings To check your connection settings, select Start, then Settings, then Connections.

Support Code: 85020006

Anticipatory thanks for the help.

My computer is Pentium IV 2.66 GHz and 512 MB of RAM.

Hi there, Trick here

Seems to be there's something wrong with the connection settings of your ActiveSync. Try this solution and hope it works for you:

  1. Go ahead and open ActiveSync and go navigate to File then to Connection Settings.
  2. Under Connection Settings, under This computer is connected to, select Internet if your PC does not use proxy
  3. If your PC uses proxy, choose Work Network.

If that doesn't work, you can try the following:

  1. Like above, make sure under The computer is connected to is set to Internet.
  2. On your device, go toSetting then Connections.
  3. Click Menu then Advanced and set Internet Connection to Automatic.
  4. On your device, go ahead and run ActiveSync, go to Menu then Connections and make sure that USB is selected.
  5. Connect your device and try again.
