Mediafire downloads do not resume in Internet Download Manager

I use mediafire so I could download anything from the Internet.

However, I get an error message when I download files especially when I resume the download.

The error message is “Cannot resume Downloading the file." Is it because the download has been stopped?

Is that why the Internet Download Manager fails to resume and gives the error stated?

Has anybody experienced the same problem I have?

What should I do to fix this problem?

Error:

Rise of the planet of the Apes 2011.mkv.001
Cannot resume downloading the file:
Rise of the planet of the Apes.mkv.001
It's possible that the address of the file is not valid anymore or your session has expired.
IDM will open a web page in your browser where it captured this download. Please start the download of the same file from your browser again, and IDM will try to capture a new address or new session data to resume this download

Sometime when downloading a file from mediafire and incase if you need to stop it, after several hour you can’t resume the file. When you click on the resume a pop-up will appear saying that "Cannot resume Downloading the file.

It happens because mediafire download session was over.

In that case When “Cannot resume Downloading the file.

Pop-up appear, click on ok. It will open mediafire download link.

Also a pop-up will appear.  Don’t click stop. Wait for loading the page. After loading, click on the download.

It will automatically resume the existing file. In that way you can resume mediafire file in idm.

You can have a unstable internet connection or inter connectivity. That might be the reason for the crash of the internet download manager or the web browsers. You need to check the internet connection. Just check it and the restart the download manager, which in this case is the mediafire. Same case applies for IDM as well.

Mediafire downloads do not resume in Internet Download Manager

When downloading a file with download manager, the resume function will always depend on the website where you are downloading the file. If the download site does not support resume then you won’t be able to pause and resume the download. You have to finish the download once you started it. On the other hand, if you are downloading from MediaFire and the resume function fails, here’s a workaround.

Normally, MediaFire allows the resume function for downloads but this function doesn’t last very long and will only last for a few minutes after pausing the download. This method requires using Mozilla Firefox and installing an add-on. Start Mozilla Firefox then go to Remove Cookies Button and install the add-on.

Next, start Internet Download Manager then right-click the download or the file that failed to resume and select “Properties”. In “File Properties” dialog, in “Referrer” field, copy the entire URL.

Now, paste this address in Mozilla Firefox and open it. Once the page loads, click the Remove Cookies Button add-on to remove the cookies on the current tab. After this, press F5 to refresh the page. Next, right-click the download link and select “Copy Link Location”. Now, back in “File Properties” dialog in Internet Download Manager, paste the link you copied in the “Address” field then click “OK”.

This should fix the problem.
