I’m using Lotus Notes, and when I attempted to open my archived mail I received the error “notes error: you are not authorized to perform that operation Module: EVLAUNCHDOCUMENT, Line:74".
After trying to fix the error I was able to gain permission to open the mailbox but I get the message “notes error: you are not authorized to perform that operation" when trying to open certain emails.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

If this is the first time the error happened when using Lotus Notes, try restarting your computer then try it again. You may also try opening the program as administrator or maybe use a user account that has administrative privileges to make sure that it will run without having any errors.
Or try doing a clean installation of the program to fix any corrupted files that may have developed in the long run and to restore it to its default configuration. Uninstall Lotus Notes then restart your computer when asked. After booting, check your computer for any possible errors.
Use a disk utility application to check the system. For a much thorough diagnostics test on your machine, use a disk utility application like Norton Utilities. Install Lotus Notes again and then check if this fixes the problem.
You may also try upgrading your present version of the program if you happened to be using the older version. Download IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.3 from Softpedia — IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.3. This version works with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
