Is it compulsory to create an active directory in windows 2008 32/64 bit server before configuring Kerio Mail server 6.5.2 as an email server. If no active directory has been configured prior to the installation of mail server, is it possible to share a public folder email address?

It is not really compulsory to have active directory in Kerio Mail but it is an added plus if you have this. This type of software provides added functions to your Kerio Mail software. You will need to install using English version Kerio Mail Active Directory is available for download. Your browser, Internet Explorer must have Microsoft XML Parser to complete the installation.

This active directory will be your mail server, where you stored data, contacts, shared, task and other kerio connectors. Her functions is act like a server. This feature will allow you to share data, email addresses and other standard feature of webmail. The same as regular webmail that has their own server.

Where out this active directory, what you can do is just the webmail feature only, send and receive data.
