Good Day Techyv!

I need an expert advice on the use of Samsung HDD utility for Windows 7 Home Premium. I am using the Samsung netbook and it seems that I have a problem with my hard disks. I just bought it a month ago and the performance is okay but suddenly it slows down. When I try to store data, the transfer rate is very low and it takes a long time to finish. Does anyone know what seems to be the problem? The hard disk is 350 GB free and I’m not sure if I need to run a diagnostic disk or will just reformat it. Please help me anyone? Any information will be very helpful to me.

Thank you so much!

Hi Ameliabelindaa,

If you are suspecting that there is something wrong with the Samsung HDD that you have then you can first do a check disk. Usually, this will automatically repair your damaged hard drive. Follow the steps in this basic troubleshooting process:

Open the START Menu and click on the COMPUTER
Right-click on the Samsung HDD drive and select TOOLS
From there, hit CHECK NOW.

It might take some time for the process to be completed.
If the HDD did not seem to repair itself, try doing a system restore before deciding to do a full system recovery. Please make sure to backup all of your important files.

I hope this information helps you.
Good luck!
