Hi Akidy,

1.       If this is a fresh installation for a new laptop with no existing OS, there shouldn’t be any issue since there would be no conflicting drivers or softwares on your system which may affect the installation. If the error comes over and over again during your installation attempts, then this might fall to a possible hardware issue and it’s best to hand it over back to your computer dealer for further checking. I believe if it’s a brand new laptop, it’s still covered by the warranty.

You may consider as well the Windows XP OS installer. Try to use other installers or have it return to the distributor. You may check as well the minimum hardware requirements for the Service Pack version of the Window XP installer versus the hardware specs of your laptop.

2.       If there’s an existing OS on your laptop, you may try to restore your computer to a previous date, where you knew it booted up. Upon restarting, press F8 repeatedly and select the Safe Mode. It should ask you if you want to continue or go to a restore point. Then wait for the restoration to finish then run the installation.

3.       You must check as well if you have the latest versions for your hardware. Download and install the newest versions of your motherboard/video/sound drivers. Also scan for any spyware.

In this case you can check that where the problem is located and then you can solve the problem  to solve the problem you first need to check all of your computer hardware and try to make it clean first of all check your RAM and make the Mattel contacts dust free unplug then and then again plug them in slots, also start your PC with out using the RAM is it gives a error or run correctly if it runs correctly then you can replace your RAM. Do the same thing for al of your devices and when you got an error then you need to check that device.

The second thing is to check your software if no hardware problem is found then you can check any software problem in this case you need to first format your drive then you need to install a new copy of windows to your PC and make sure it is a valid copy. Also check when this problem arise do you make some changes to your PC if you make some changes then you can undo these changes and it will work fine. Also try to boot your system in safe mode and then try to solve problem. I hope you can now easily solve your problem.

That problem might be from your installer. If you are installing Windows XP using the setup CD, try installing the operating system using a USB flash drive. This is more convenient than installing Microsoft Windows from a setup CD. To install Windows XP from a USB flash drive, download Rufus. This program runs right out of the box and doesn’t need to be installed.

Once you have this, you need to create an ISO image of your Windows XP setup CD. To do this, download ImgBurn and install it. Once installed, insert your Windows XP setup CD on your optical drive then start ImgBurn. In ImgBurn, select “Create image file from disc” from the menu. In “Source”, select the drive where your Windows XP setup CD is inserted.

In “Destination”, navigate to the folder where you want to save the ISO file. In “Read Speed”, select the read speed you want. When you are ready, click the “Read” button to begin creating the ISO file. Once the ISO file is created, insert the USB flash drive you want to use then start Rufus. In “Device”, select the drive for your USB flash drive.

In “New volume label”, enter a name for your bootable USB flash drive. On the right of “Create a bootable disk using”, select “ISO Image” from the dropdown list then click the CD icon next to it and select the ISO file you created. Click “Start” to begin creating the bootable USB flash drive. This may take some time to finish.

When it is finished, close Rufus then download the modified NTDETECT.COM file and unpack it using WinRAR, WinZip, or 7-Zip. Once unpacked, copy it and replace the existing NTDETECT.COM file on your bootable USB flash drive.
