How to fix error when connecting Nokia PC Suite to 7610?

Hi,

While attempting to connect my PC Suite by using a USB stick to my 7610, I keep on getting the error message “Connection to Nokia PC Suite failed. Please reinstall Nokia PC Suite. (Code: Init IMediaControl2)”.

In trying to fix this error I have installed the drivers (DKU-2 USB) and PC Suite (6.2), uninstalled everything and used the Nokia Registry Cleaner. Restarted the PC after every installation, reconnected the phone and managed the connection in the Control Panel.

My computer uses the Windows XP Pro operating system and is fully updated. Even after completing all of the above steps, I still receive the same error message. Can someone help me?

It is very important to always safely remove every USB devices to avoid frequent connection problems. Disconnect the USB cable to reconnect again. 
 
  • Directly connecting the phone to the computer would be much easier, for the meantime disregard using your USB hub.
  • Consider checking the USB cable for possible problems and consider an immediate replacement if needed.
  • Just be sure to select Nokia Suite or (PC Suite) connection mode  if your phone asks.
  • Safely disconnect the cable, restart your computer and try again.
 
If in case your connection stops working, try to repair by this ways: 
 
  • In your computers Control Panel, go to Add/Remove Programs (or the Programs andFeatures in Microsoft Windows 7).
  • Choose Nokia Suite and click Change/Remove.
  • Choose Repair. Nokia automatically repairs any error/s found.
