Hi! Some of the clients in my network required to gain full network access. I want to be sure they have the Windows Firewall enabled when I do this. Is there any way to check if they have installed the most recent Windows updates?

Hallo Donabelle,

You will have to turn on the firewall by going to the control panel. The following is the procedure of how you will go about it:

  • Click on start on your computer, and then look for control panel and then click on it.
  • Press enter on the keyboard to open it.
  • In the window that will open click on system security.
  • Click on window firewall.
  • In the right pane in the window, click on turn windows firewall on or off.
  • Check the box labeled 'turn windows firewall ON'

Click Ok when you are done to save the changes.

Hope this helps.

Windows update has an automatic feature that search for new updates on Windows. This can be configure on your computer and can be set weather you want to automatically updates or reminds you for updates.

All Windows has it's own built-in firewall. And this firewall is good enough to protect computer intruders. Most specially, you company need this very badly to protect your computer files and it's data saved.

To check if Windows Firewall is up to date, you can do the following.

Go to Start, Control Panel
Select System and Security
Click Windows Firewall
It'll show if Firewall is enabled or not
Update the security software if needed

If you are using a 3rd party security software such as McAfee, Norton or any type of security program, you can check the latest update's time and date.

Most security software has this information to identify if this software is up to date. If it does, then you will not going to worry because the software is definitely protecting your computer to any threat on the Internet.
