Hello,
I wanted to use GIMP image manipulation program but I keep getting an error as shown below. I am a novice with this software so as you explain all I need to know please be simple. Why am I getting this error?

Failed to create thumbnail folder ‘/home/yuv/.thumbnails/normal’.
GIMP doesn't have permission to use swap space so it fails to make thumbnail cache. Give the owner write permission of the .thumbnails and all its sub directories or files. Run your GIMP with the code:
Chmod -R u+w /home/merrillj/ .thumbnails

You are encountering this problem because your present settings do not give you administrative access to GIMP. Here's how you remedy this:
1. Go to the GIMP icon.
2. Right-click on the icon.
3. Set your access to administrative rights.
You should not be getting the error after you have done this, and you can now start saving on your preferred location. Hope this helps.
