Dear Eliza,

Skype is basically a small software that lets you make video calls on your computer to another computer anywhere in the world.

Requirements:

  • Both computers must have a working internet connection.
  • Skype installed on both of them.
  • Does not matter where they live.
  • Both users must have skypenames and passwords (in other words, have their own skype accounts)
  • A mic and speakers for voice call on both ends
  • A webcam for video on both ends

It is FREE. You can also call actual phone numbers from skype…but that is not free. For that you will need to pay some money.

That is the very basics of skype from all angles.

Hope you got the idea.

You can download skype from here: https://www.skype.com/en/get-skype/

Regards
