Please help me. I have a Format Factory software, and I’m using it quite fine until my computer crashed a few days ago.

So I have to have it fixed after that I reinstalled Format Factory but it is showing an error message

 “C:Program FilesFreeTimeFormatFactoryFormatFactory.exe
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.”

So I uninstalled and reinstalled the software a lot of times and until now it is of no use. I really need your help.

Any kind of suggestions on what to do and ideas on how to solve this software installation is highly appreciated.

If you can help me I thank you in advance.

You did not indicate what version of Format Factory you have. But if you have the version 2.90 of that application, you may want to check first if the current operating system you installed is compatible with it. Format Factory 2.90 is compatible with these platform versions:

  • Windows Server 32-bit
  • Windows 2000 32-bit
  • Windows XP 32-bit
  • Windows Vista 32-bit
  • Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit

Since you did not include the version of Windows you have installed, you may just check which of the operating systems listed above is currently installed on your computer. This version of Format Factory supports all 32-bit operating systems listed above and Windows 7 is the only supported 64-bit version.

If you keep on experiencing the same problem and reinstalling it doesn’t help, you may need to check your computer for possible problems. Your application cannot initialize. Use a disk utility application to diagnose your system. If you don’t have one installed on your computer you may use Windows’ disk check tool.

  1. Right-click drive C then select Properties.
  2. Click Tools tab.
  3. Click Check Now.
  4. Check Automatically fix file system errors then hit Start.

For a much thorough diagnostics, use a disk utility application like Norton SystemWorks or Norton Utilities 15.0, for example, instead of using Windows’ disk check.

If checking your system didn’t help fix the problem, uninstall it then download another copy of the installer and then install it.
