Hi all,

I got an error from Yahoo:
"Unable to process request at this time — error 999.
Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later."

What could be the reason for this? How can I fix it?

Hello,

This is a common problem now a days. I have also found this problem. Yahoo is developing their system. Some days ago yahoo was temporary blocked some times in a day. even now a days It is occurring frequently. Don't worry about it. There is a solve.

When you open the yahoo account some information remains in your browser as history, cache and cookies. First you have to clear your history. If do not want to clear your history then no problem but if you do this then you can get a better result. Then clear your cache going to your browser and selecting tools.

After that you must restart your PC. After that start your browsing. Remember for new version of yahoo needs faster internet connection. Also you must know that you will not open one account in 2 tabs or 2/3 browsers. Try to login with a secure internet connection. But all-time clear your cache and cookies after browsing.

Thanks.

This seems to be a blanket code that yahoo can just throw out there when they don´t have a specific error code to give you. I believe that Yahoo has implemented this code to control bandwidth allocations, it has been installed on their server and once you exceed the bandwidth you are allowed they cut you off from their different sites.

There are two main reasons yahoo would do this;

  1. To stop DoS attacks.
  2. To stop automated tasks abusing their servers performing millions a second.

Lots of programs exist to check your yahoo programs automatically i. e. checking your email of, checking archive Yahoo Groups messages, downloading photos, etc.

If you use one of these automated tools then there is a very real possibility that you will run into the Error 999 message. The average user will not generate a yahoo error message unless you are on the net constantly and using yahoo all the time.

Yahoo can use your IP address to see what exactly you´re up to and how much traffic you generate. Once you have generate a big burden on their servers the Unable to process request at this time — error 999 message appear. Once activated your IP address will be blocked from 2 hours to a whole day.
