This is kind of weird message, when I try open .exe in Ubuntu I am facing this error. I recently I updated the Ubuntu to latest version, this might be the problem? Do I need to change any properties in wine? Please help to resolve this problem. Thanks for your help.

Error shows when trying to open .exe in Ubuntu
If you will persist on installing that version of VLC media player on your Linux Ubuntu, I’m not sure if you will get through it. That’s because that version you are installing is not even designed to run on Ubuntu or any Linux operating systems. The name of the installer you have has “win32” in it and that means it is intended to be installed and opened on x86 [32-bit] Microsoft Windows and not on Linux.
It is clear that you have downloaded the wrong installer for your operating system. You can fix this if you download the correct version of VLC media player or download the Ubuntu version of VLC media player. To download the latest version, visit VLC media player for Ubuntu. If you want to transcode or to stream, you need to install the component “libavcodec-extra-53” by running the following command without quotes: “% sudo apt-get install vlc libavcodec-extra-53”.
