Hi guys,

I have recently started using the Alfa ebook software to organize my ebooks on my system.

I have installed version 2.5.1.0 and I am using OS windows XP.

When I initiate the software, I am met with the following errors on my screen:

 

I am facing error while opening the software as well as closing it down. When I scan a folder for a book, the system gives me no feedback. It is just blank. Similar is the case when I close the program.

I installed the Microsoft .net framework 4 again on my machine, but still, the problem is there.

Please help me out in coming out of this situation. I'll be really thankful to you all.

Hello Julie,

The following workarounds should help you resolve that issue:

  • Locate the settings folder on your computer and then get rid of it. If you are using windows XP then it is most likely located in the following directory path: Documents and Settings/USER/Local Settings/Application Data/Alfa.NetSoft. After you have deleted the settings folder you should relaunch the application again.
  • Check to see which version of Windows XP professional pack you are using. If it is service pack 2 then it is does not support the application. You will  need to get service pack 3 and install it.
  • If you remember when the problem started to appear, you can just restore your system to an earlier state than that and see if that will resolve the issue.
