This error is somewhat a result of an error in the installation software in CS5.

It does not really depend on what kind of OS you are using in your PC the solution for this error is the same for Windows Vista and XP or Windows 7.

Just follow these simple steps to fix this problem:

1. On your Computer click start button on the task plane Go to Organize then to Folder and Search Options.
2. Click View Tab.
3. Go to Navigate then Program filesCommon filesAdobe.
4. Once there right click your PCD Folder and select the properties tab.
5. In the properties tab choose or select the Attributes Section, Deselect the Read-Only button then click Apply and OK.

If the error is still not fix then you must still check is you are running the application correctly by doing these next steps.

6. Now Go to Security tab in your PC and see if the Administrators and Systems is set to Full Control. If not then do the Following steps.

6.1. Choose Edit.
6.2. If a Dialog box appears and you see User Account Control (UAC) then your almost done fixing this problem.
6.3. Follow the given instructions and make the changes then click Advanced.
6.4. Choose the Owner Tab, Choose Edit and If the UAC dialog box appears just Click Accept.
