Error message appears while installing Flash player

I have recently installed SP-4 but I am getting an error, I then tried SFC/scannow but that also produced an error.  I then loaded a new version of  KERNEL.dll, even then the error still occurs
I have been to some other sites and they say their 'scanner' will fix my problem. Is this true?.

Video Lan shows this error as well as a few others.
I try and install Flash and the following message appears:

The procedure entry point SetDllDirector,/W could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dIl.

OK

I am using an IBM with Windows 2000

Hi Mike,

The reason why you get this error is because the Windows 2000 is too old. To Video LAN to work you need to install an older version of that program. According to the research I made, VLC 1.0.5 will certainly work. As for flash try also an older version, v11 will probably work.

Hi Mike,

It is true that some scanner programs may fix the problem you're having. For instance, AVG also has a registry scanner included, which is often useful when encountering problems like this. I would highly recommend downloading AVG free, letting it run all scans and trying again with the latest Version of Adobe Flash that is compatible with windows 2000. For the best results, download directly from Adobe.
