Hi,

I was told to buy Fixit to try a new battery.

I did so and was recognized in iTunes to get restored, got as far as firmware and got an error 29.

What is it?

I tried it about six times and always, the same error 29 showed up.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Chubs.

Hi,

The error 29 that you are getting when you try to restore iTunes is usually a Hardware Error. On 3GS, he error is usually caused by a batter that is not compatible with the phone. In the event that the battery has possibly been changed sometime before, then you will have to install a battery that is compatible with your iPhone 3GS.

But in case you are completely sure that the battery that is being used is the Original Battery that the iPhone came with, then you will need to follow the Apple Steps that have been listed below:

  • First, you will need to verify that the issue is a 3rd party security software issue.
  • You will also need to update your security software and configure it properly.
  • You can also disable the security software temporarily or uninstall it.

Regards,

Carl
