Hi! I must deploy two Microsoft Exchange 2007 servers, of which one has the role of Hub Transport server and the other one has the role of Unified Messaging (UM) server. Does anyone know if I have to deploy them in the same Active Directory or I must have 2 of them?

Hallo Charity,

I am not so sure about that, but I think it is possible for you to deploy the same active directory for the two servers, even though it may have some setbacks.

But in your case I will have suggested that you use single copy cluster, as it provides high availability of the resources that are on the server, and it will also be effective in case there is a failure of the server since one node will take over. Its disadvantage it that there is a single point of failure and I guess that is why you are trying to deploy two servers on the same directory.

For more guidance on the methods you will use for deploying the servers on the active directory I will refer you to this site

Hope this helps.
