My cousin gave me a Canon MP198 printer which had CIS(Continuous Ink Solution) Kit installed. It was a year old and was perfectly working when I got it. I had no print jobs for like a month but i stored it properly, had the rubber plugs and the ink valve shut tight.
I was to use it again but my colored document turned out black. I inspected the ink lines and found that the ink receded around 5 inches from the cartridge. I performed deep cleaning, the ink level from the tanks is down to a quarter but the ink still won't reach the cartridge. Anybody have similar problems?
Canon Continuous Ink Solution Problem
Canon continuous ink supply systems are a great way to save money on printing. They allow you to use bulk/refill ink without having to mess with needles or having to frequently refill your ink cartridges. It's the most convenient way to save money and brings your cost per print down to pennies, rather than quarters.
Canon has a reputation for producing some of the best photo printers on the market. This is due in great part to the print head technology employed by Canon, and more importantly, the ink quality. Canon uses very high quality dye based inkjet inks that are capable of a wide color gamut.
Finding a good Canon continuous ink system is not so easy, however. With the online market being flooded with cheap foreign made ink systems, it's hard to find something that you know you'll be able to trust. You don't want an ink system that will leak and you don't want to have to reprieve your ink system every time you use it. You want an ink system that will be maintenance free and that only needs to be topped off with fresh ink every once in a while.
