Cannot delete a file on hard disk; collapses Windows Explorer

Hi,

In my F: drive, there is a file that is giving me a problem. It’s an application and its size is 1.08 GB, although it will never open. I don't need this file, so I want to remove it.  But the thing is, I can't remove it.

If I hit right on the file, Windows Explorer collapses. If I am using the Delete key, Windows Explorer collapses.

Error created in these positions:

Problem Event Name: AppHangB1
Application Name: explorer.exe
Application Version: 6.0.6002.18005
Application Timestamp: 49e01da5
Hang Signature: 423b
Hang Type: 0
OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3

If I move the file to Recycle bin (or anywhere else beyond its containing folder), Windows Explorer collapses.

The file is using the free space on my drive and I don’t know how to solve it.  Please help. Thanks.

Hi

The problem you are telling is that the file is allocating some space in your hard disk and it cannot delete also so you want to delete that file and get rid of the space of the allocated by the file but in trying to delete that file there is some error so the only option you still have is to delete that file by you installing first the window and then delete that file it might be the problem of the window that your window is corrupt and that's why it does not want to delete that file or there is error in the file so you must delete that file and that is why the file is not deleting so deleting file might take place when you install the window and then delete that file this is the easiest way to delete the file. Hope this way you can get rid of the file and get that allocated space as a useful space.

Good day to you! Your problem is about a spyware or a virus.  The easiest solution is to have your computer operating system reinstalled or your computer be reformatted but if you cannot do so, you can use available anti-spyware or anti-virus tools.  There are some which are free but the best tools are needed to be purchased.  One effective tool that you can use is the "Uniblue Registry Booster".  It offers free scanning and removal of some problems and if you are really aiming for a total clean-up of your system without reformatting, then you have to use the full version.  This is the site for your reference.
