While taking the backup of files to DVD Image I receive 0I/O x8007045d error, Also I will receive it while copying files from one folder to the other.

Sometimes it just freezes other times I get a blue screen and restart. Really I need help, because it's my family photos I can't back up.

The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

Hi Stepheen,

It seems your PC has been potentially infected by viruses or some errors have occurred in your Operating System, which is most probably Windows XP. Otherwise "Blue-Screen Error" would not have occurred. You should re-install your Windows Operating System, but that may result in the loss of your photos. There  is a way with which you may get your photos in a safe place. That is by using the Safe-Mode.

You can boot into the Safe-Mode very easily. When your computer starts, press and hold the F8 button. This will open a black screen from where you can choose between many options. Choose Safe-Mode with Networking with the help of your arrow keys on the keyboard and press Enter. When your computer boots into Safe-Mode you can copy your files to a safe place and then re-install Windows in your PC using a CD or a USB Flash Drive. I would recommend Windows 7, as it comes with more convenience and less errors.

Regards
