Avid Chess fan wants to play with my grandfather

My Grandfather lives in California while I travel a lot. He is a chess addict and will play it all day. But not everyone can withstand playing chess all day. And he doesn’t want to play against a computer because of lack of interaction. Is there a software that will enable my grandfather to play against human players and also have chat or voice function?

Avid Chess fan wants to play with my grandfather

You can try and have Yahoo! Messenger installed in your grandfather's computer. You can have a webcam and a headset added to the system and install the Yahoo! Games Challenge plugin. This would allow your grandfather to play Chess – in addition to other games like Pool, Text Twist, Super Collapse – with his Yahoo! Messenger friends. He can join Yahoo's chat rooms and meet people online that may be as avid a chess player as he is. He can have the functionalities of the IM software while enjoying a good game of chess with his friends.
