From the error message, it seems that the error is being caused by some problems that are prevailing the mail settings. Did you by any change the email configuration settings on your phone, because if you did then that is the possible cause of the problem? I will suggest that you try the following:

  • Go to the mail server that you using on your phone, or even if it is the normal phone messaging service and check if you might have changed the settings and reconfigure them.
  • You might also consider restoring the phone settings to factory settings, though that will mean that other settings including the message settings will be affected.

Also try restarting the phone and see if that may help in some way.
