I recently installed version 10.1.0 of Adobe Reader X to be used on a network on Terminal Servers. The following morning I started getting messages from other network users saying that they are unable to open some PDF files. They get an error similar to the one below.

Any ideas?

Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement.

1. option: if the names of the problematic files contain the letter combinations CRM or SCRIPT, the latest version of Reader cannot open them. This can easily be resolved by renaming the files. It is possible that there are more "flawed" combinations like that. There are also register keys to get around this problem:

For the 32bit version of Windows:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREAdobeAdobe Acrobat10.0AdobeViewer]
“EULAAcceptedForBrowser”=dword:00000001

For 64bit version of Windows:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432Node\AdobeAdobe Acrobat10.0AdobeViewer]

“EULAAcceptedForBrowser”=dword:00000001

2. option: in Preferences, choose Enable Protected Mode at startup under General.
