The brightness settings on my Lenovo Yoga HD+ seem to change at random. I have checked the settings, and I made sure to select full brightness and deselect the automatic adjustments. This made no difference. What worries me a bit is that when the brightness goes down, the entire screen becomes also more yellow. If I go back to settings and change the brightness manually, everything goes back to normal. What could be the problem?

I was trying to get into the BIOS to change some menial things on my computer. However, I had to restart suddenly because the BIOS was not responding (or I was making mistakes trying to get into it). Anyway, now the computer takes ages to start (around 15-20 minutes). Before it starts I get a blue screen for maybe a second, but I cannot see any error message. I don´t know what to do and what to search for, since I truly cannot see any clue. What should I do next?

I am having issues with my RAM and Windows 7. I am trying to repair my computer, but when I go in safe mode to reinstall Windows 7, I get a message saying that only 256 MB of my RAM are usable. My RAM is brand new, and is a 16 GB one. Can it be that Windows 7 is restricting the RAM accessibility in safe mode, or is my RAM defective?

Hello, I am thinking of connecting a second monitor to my desktop computer. I have one done so at work, and I use it as an extended desktop and find it great for multitasking. However, my home computer only has one VGA output. Is there a way to connect a second monitor to a computer with only one VGA output?

I have heard many wonderful things about the Raspberry Pi, and I was wondering if it could be used in an office setting. We have a very old (very, very old) computer that we use only to write up invoices with Excel and a very short letter with Word. Could we replace it with a Raspberry Pi? Will it be able to perform these tasks consistently?

Hello. Today I noticed that my fan speed was working at a much slower speed than normal. At first I could not hear it as loudly as usual, and then I checked the temperature readings, and the fan was actually running at half speed, and my CPU temperature was rising. I tried to change the fan speed in the BIOS, but it looked like I wasn’t allowed. I don’t understand why this is so, when I usually take the same steps and BIOS allows me to change with no hitch. Could there be a deeper problem than a faulty fan?

I am thinking of setting up my computer in order to remotely boot it up. I read that there is a possibility to use the Ethernet port allowing to turn on or awake the computer via a network message. Does this work on any Ethernet port, or is a new standard? Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed?

Hello. My Compaq desktop computer (DC510SFF) does moderately fine for a daily home use, but I would like to try and speed it up a bit. It has a 2 GB RAM, a Pentium 4 3.0 GHz. I just would like to gain some more speed without spending too much money. What should I buy, that is compatible with what I already have?

My Acer Aspire Laptop was working fine yesterday evening. My antivirus hadn’t warned me of any issues and I was doing some very light and safe work. As I tried to turn it on today, the only thing that responded was the green power light. Everything else remained dead, starting from the battery, to the fan, to the screen. This is all so sudden, and I don’t know what to do. Where do I start looking for a solution? What could the problem be?

I bought a Moto X smartphone to use together with my Moto 360. When I try to connect the two, however, I cannot get past the “Choose a device” screen in Android Wear. What could be the issue? The Moto 360 has never been connected to another phone, and the Moto X is brand new.
