I have a HP-3900 desk-jet and recently stopped printing and even after futile attempt to connect to restart the service it stills shows a pop-up' widows cannot connect to the printer" what causes this problem? Is there a way of solving this issue because I'm stuck with my printer, Does the solution involve re-installing the operating system? I have already tried the reinstalling the divers but no success

It may seem pretty simple but the matter of looking at this simple thing causes a lot in resolving the issues of connectivity. First and foremost, push both end the connector, from the computer and the other end at the printer. Meaning, the connection might be loose and if this was the case, it is not properly connected and the computer will not be able to detect the printer. Second option, go to Start, select Devices and Printers, point over your mouse to the printer and right click. Then, select See What's Printing or properties, clear all spooled pending print jobs if there are. Go back to the printer properties, go to tab Ports, select USB. This is to initiate the connection between the two machines. Now exit by clicking on OK and try printing. Please do refer with the pictures attached herewith.
